Founded in 1999, Awesome Girls is an after-school mentoring program for girls aged 9-19. Lily is working with ReachNOLA and the New Orleans VideoVoice Project on a 3 month documentary filmmaking workshop with the Awesome Girls, developing the girls' media voice and amplifying the experience of the Treme and 7th Ward communities.
MairzyDoats is in pre-production on a feature-length documentary on the life and work of New Orleans pianist James Booker.
MairzyDoats works closely with the New Orleans youth theatre corps Creative Forces, documenting their professional and creative development.
Lily is the organizer of the New Orleans Documentary Night. Currently hosted at Colton school, NODOC screens contemporary documentaries the first Monday of each month. Come join local filmmakers, professionals, artists and experts in discussing non-fiction films.
